When I turned 30 this past spring, I was talking to my mom about how I had “gained a little weight” but other than that, I had been feeling okay. Her response was, “well, it’s genetic”. A few things happened right after I said that- I realized that I had gained more than a “little” weight and those extra pounds weren’t doing me any favors with my back issues. I was lethargic, but couldn’t get to sleep at night and didn’t sleep well once I did. I had also become increasingly aware of the health issues that could be right in front of me that I wasn’t being mindful of. Many different types of health issues run in my family: obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid issues, heart disease, and cancer- all of which can be genetic, but many of these things were things I had the ability to do something about.

Dr. Graham recommended that I just talk to Lori about Ideal Protein and see if it would be of interest and potentially help me with the obstacles I was trying to hurdle. I made the appointment, sat down with Lori, told her my concerns, and left the office having signed up for the program. Lori was so easy to talk to from the beginning and really listened when I expressed my concerns with diets. I didn’t want to experience the yo-yo effect, I wanted to be able to manage without having to count calories, I struggle to get to the gym on a daily basis, and I needed help with accountability. She assured me that all of these things would be manageable and this sounded like something that would work for me.

I have lost 50lbs in 6 months and have gone from a size 14 to a size 6! I feel fantastic, it was very easy to incorporate this diet into my day-to-day, and the best thing was that weekly I could see measurable results. Fridays became a day that I looked (and still look) forward to because I know I’ll leave my appointment feeling proud of what I’ve accomplished in a week and over the entirety of the program. I know that the eating habits I have developed while doing Ideal Protein are lifelong and I now know what I need to do to stay healthy and self-manage for a healthier future. I sleep better now, and know that I’m doing my part to help avoid any of the major health issues that run in my family.

I have recommended Ideal Protein to many people in my life and will continue to do so, because I believe in what it can do now and the positive effect it will have for the future.
